How does Shopify same-day delivery work?
When a shopper views an eligible product, the NOW badge and a live countdown show they can have it today. If the order is placed before NOON and qualifies, the Ecom NOW option appears at checkout. The order is fulfilled in time for same-day handoff, and Ecom delivers it by 9 PM with tracking and delivery confirmation.
Do I need to use Ecom for fulfillment?
No. Eligible orders can be fulfilled by Ecom, by your own operation or by your existing 3PL, provided they can be prepared in time for Ecom's same-day delivery handoff.
Can I keep my existing 3PL?
Yes. Your 3PL fulfills the order as it does today and has it ready for same-day handoff to Ecom within the required window. Your Ecom team confirms the operating requirements with you before you go live.
What is the same-day order cut-off?
NOON. Orders placed before NOON can qualify for delivery the same day by 9 PM. At NOON the Ecom NOW option is removed from product pages, collection pages and checkout automatically, and it does not roll forward as tomorrow's same-day delivery.
Which Shopify plans support Ecom NOW?
Plans that support third-party carrier-calculated shipping at checkout. Shopify includes it on the Advanced and Plus plans, and Grow stores can add it for a monthly fee or by switching to annual billing. We confirm your plan when we check your fit.
What happens when an order does not qualify?
Ecom NOW does not appear, and the shopper continues with the standard delivery options in your store. That covers a product that is not enabled, an address outside the same-day area, an order after NOON, a basket with an ineligible product, or an order that cannot be fulfilled in time.
