Sustainability in our logistics operation

A supplier assessment needs more than an environmental slogan. Review the operating practices below, then ask which apply to your service and what documentation is available for your reporting requirements.

How the work is set up

Four things about how deliveries, packing and returns are run day to day.

Electric delivery vans

Electric delivery vehicles joined Ecom’s fleet in September 2023, as recorded in the company’s announcements. For a supplier assessment, ask which vehicles and routes apply to your service and what environmental reporting is available.

How this works

Batched delivery routes

Orders for the same area are grouped and sequenced into routes. Consolidating stops can reduce repeated travel, although the result depends on route density, vehicle use and the deliveries being served.

How this works

Packaging set per programme

Pack materials are set as part of setting up a client's programme rather than chosen per order. That is what makes them controllable at all: a decision taken once, for a whole account, can be specified and checked, where a packer choosing a box per order cannot be. It also means the box is sized to what the account actually ships instead of to a default, so there is less void to fill. If a specific material matters to you, ask: we will send the supplier documentation for it rather than describe it in our own words, because the supplier is the one who can stand behind it.

How this works

Consolidated returns

Returns can be inspected and restocked within the fulfillment operation rather than sent individually back to the brand. The movement plan depends on where returns originate and which items can be resold.

Assessing us as a supplier?

If you need environmental information for a vendor assessment or an RFP, ask us directly. We would rather tell you exactly what we can document today than give you a figure you cannot verify.
