The case for keeping some of it out of FBA

FBA and FBM solve different parts of an Amazon operation. FBA replenishment sends prepared stock into Amazon; FBM orders are fulfilled from the inventory you hold with Ecom. Keeping stock for both channels can give you another way to serve orders, provided your listings, availability and delivery settings support it.

  • Plan FBA replenishment and FBM orders against the inventory available for each channel.
  • Compare the storage and shipping costs of holding slower-moving or oversize SKUs outside FBA.
  • Review whether an FBM offer can support orders while FBA inventory is being replenished.

What sellers ask about prep

Are you an Amazon-approved prep centre?
We prepare shipments against the requirements for your ASINs and shipment plan. Share the current prep instructions so the team can confirm the scope before inbound stock is sent. Any programme certification required by your business should be confirmed separately.
Can you receive stock straight from my supplier?
Yes, and that is the usual arrangement. Freight comes from the factory to us, gets prepped and inspected, and goes on to Amazon. You never take delivery of a pallet you then have to handle yourself.
Do you handle the shipment plan and booking?
Shipment plans, carton preparation and delivery booking requirements are reviewed with your team. Confirm who creates the plan and which receiving appointment applies before the shipment is released.
What about returns from FBA?
Removal orders can come back to us to be inspected, repacked and either sent back in or shipped as FBM. Returned stock going straight back to Amazon unchecked is how a listing picks up condition complaints.
Do you do this in the US as well as Canada?
Yes. Our Philadelphia site preps for US fulfillment centres, which avoids sending Canadian stock across the border twice.
