Pick and pack services for ecommerce orders

A picking error costs more than a replacement item. It creates another shipment and another customer-service conversation. Ecom checks picked units against the order and packs them to your specification before dispatch.

What happens after somebody clicks buy

  1. The order lands

The connected order arrives with its delivery address, service level and relevant handling instructions, ready for the warehouse to process.

  2. It becomes a pick

Orders are grouped for picking and assigned to the warehouse workflow. Bin locations help the picker find the required SKU and quantity.

  3. Every unit is scanned

Picked units are scanned against the order lines. This check helps catch a wrong SKU or quantity before the order reaches packing.

  4. It is packed to your spec

Box size chosen for the contents, your own packaging and inserts if you supply them, and anything fragile handled the way you told us to handle it.

  5. Released for dispatch

The packed order moves to the agreed outbound service. Same-day dispatch depends on the order cutoff, available stock and the service plan for your programme.

What one pick leaves behind

This illustrative scan history shows the kinds of warehouse events recorded as an order moves through picking, packing and dispatch. It is a process example, not a measured turnaround time.

Kitting, bundling and assembly

A kit combines several products into one sellable unit. Preparing subscription boxes, retail multipacks or promotional bundles ahead of the shipping window can reduce the assembly work left for each order. We review the components, packaging and expected demand before planning the run.

  • Built ahead of demand and held as its own SKU, so peak weeks are picking one line instead of six.
  • Inserts, leaflets and samples added at the bench rather than by you before the stock ships to us.
  • Agree how unused kits and components will be handled when the promotion ends.
A long kitting bench: six open cartons in a row each being filled with the same set of items, cobalt totes of components behind them, and a cart of sealed identical cartons beside it.

What brands ask about picking

What is your pick accuracy?
Ask for the current fulfillment performance report, including the reporting period and how errors are measured. Scan checks and packing quality control are part of the process, but a process description should not be treated as an accuracy guarantee.
Can you use my own packaging?
Yes. Send it and we will store it and use it. Branded mailers, tissue, cards, stickers and inserts are all normal. If you would rather we source plain cartons and void fill, that is on the quote as its own line.
What about fragile or awkward items?
Tell us at onboarding and the packing instruction travels with the SKU rather than living in somebody's memory. Glass, liquids and anything with a battery each have handling rules we will confirm before the first shipment.
How do you charge for this?
The quote reflects your order volume, lines per order and packing requirements. Kitting, packaging materials and other additional work need to be specified separately. The pricing page explains the main cost categories to compare.
What happens when you get one wrong?
Report the issue with the order reference so the team can review the warehouse and shipment records. The resolution and any cost responsibility follow the agreement for your account.

One record from the bench to the door

The pick, the pack and the delivery scan land on the same order, so nobody reconciles three systems to answer one question.
